Ben Brown

brownben

July 26, 2001 ~ December 4, 2020

On the evening of December 4th, 2020, Ben Brown, beloved son and brother passed away at the age of 19. Ben was surrounded by family when he left us peacefully, after a 5 day battle following a car accident on the afternoon of November 29th.

Ben was born on July 26th, 2001 in El Paso Texas, to parents Joe Hernandez and Catherine Brown. He lived in Mooreland, Oklahoma with his older brother, Danny, and sister-in-law, Sarah. Ben attended Mooreland High School where he was set to graduate in the spring of 2021 and planned to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall.

Bens impact on his family and community was immeasurable. He was a devoted Christian who shared his faith openly. When he was not studying or spending time with his girlfriend, Jaedyn, he was a diesel tech at his brothers company while also working as a farm hand, and a proud Moorland firefighter (badge #247). Ben was also a tremendous athlete who competed in track & field and cross country - taking the State Championship title back to back during the last two years. He managed to do all this while also excelling academically and maintaining top marks in his studies.

Ben was known for his kindness and generosity; his goofy sense of humor and his beautiful smile; his hard work and his commitment to family. He was loved by all who knew him.

Ben was preceded in death by his older brother Billy.

Ben is survived by his parents Joe and Catherine and his 5 siblings, Scott, Sandy, Danny, Jesse, and Angel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Cross Country team with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Mooreland High School gymnasium, with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Woodward on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
