Ronda Dawn Graham Asher, 40 year old Mooreland resident, passed from this life September 21, 2008 at her home in Mooreland, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church in Mooreland with Justin Coffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ronda was born on April 4, 1968, in Woodward, to Billy and Betty (Osborn) Graham. Her family lived in Woodward until she was two, at which time they moved to Mooreland to her final home. She attended Mooreland Public Schools, proudly graduating with the class of 1986. After graduation she furthered her education by obtaining her cosmetology licensure. She married Kyle Lawrence Asher. To this union, her pride and joy Kamron Charles Asher was born. He was her miracle baby. Ronda lost her eye sight during labor and remained blind for six months, nevertheless, she was still a full-time hands-on mom, caring for Kamron. Although she regained her eye sight in her one eye, she didn‚t let her limited eye sight keep her down, she was always on the go. Kamron was Ronda's pride and joy. During her last hours here on earth, she was expressing her love for him, telling how glad she was that Kamron was playing football & learning to play the trumpet.
Ronda was a member of the Mid Day Ambucs for several years She held several positions throughout her years with Ambucs including: Chapter Second Vice President, Vice President & President. She was also a president of the big hat club. Being in Ambucs allowed her to help fulfill her calling of helping those in need. She took a lot of pride in her membership and met numerous friends doing this. She was always a very hard worker, even holding down two full-time jobs while pregnant with her son Kamron. She was employed with Answering Unlimited as a telephone operator for 15 years until her death. Ronda never met a person without meeting a new friend. She was well liked and was often called upon to help friends in need or just to lend a shoulder to cry on. Although she was not wealthy, she learned early on from her parents what a joy and blessing it was to give to those in need, and she took great pride in always doing what she could for others. Although she was fighting a huge battle with Diabetes, she worried more about others than herself. Her diabetes led to her having cardiomyopathy, which ultimately caused her health to fail quickly. At the time of her death, she was planning on going that next week to Oklahoma City to have an artificial heart put in to help her maintain until a donor heart became available. Ronda became a Christian as a youth. She was an active member of the Mooreland Church of Christ ˆ and then the Woodward Christ‚s Church after they combined in July 2007.
Ronda was preceded in death by her dad, Billy Charles Graham. her grandparents, Charlie and Alta Graham, and Andy and Ellen Osborn, her uncle James Graham, her aunt Bernice Wellborn
Those surviving to cherish her memory include her son Kamron, her mother Betty Graham of the home. her sister Lynne McConnell and husband Lonnie of Mooreland, her brother Randal Graham and wife Cindy of Alva, OK., her brother Brian Schexnider of Stroud, OK, sister LaGina Heifner and husband Dick of Woodward, OK, and brothers Marvin Kehn of Fairview, OK., Gary Kehn and wife JoAnn of Enid, OK. and Bobby Kehn of Newkirk, OK., as well as numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Verna Garner, Maxine Miller and husband Adelbert, Alice Carpenter, Dwayne Graham and wife Lela of Fairview, Leonard and Marlys Osborn, Mary Strever, Dixie & Lavoy Johnson, Darrell & Joannie Osborn & Don and Erna Osborn. She will be forever remembered by her church family and all of her friends.
