Abandoned Cemetery (Keenan)

Location: 13 miles west of Sharon, Oklahoma on the southwest corner of the intersection. There used to be a community named Keenan near here but it blew away in the tornado (1947) and was not rebuilt. Most of the bodies buried here were moved to other cemeteries. Of the dozen or so markers still standing, most are unreadable. Very overgrown.

If you have family buried in this cemetery or have any information about anyone buried here and would like to add their information, an obit, tombstone photo, funeral home record or memorial card to this website, please send area coordinator an e-mail.

A post office was established in 1901 & the name was Doris. The name was changed to Keenan in 1910. Named for first postmistress Julia A. Keenan.
