JoAnn (Devous) Dixon was born October 12, 1944 to Lester and Marquita (Crissup) Devous in Freedom, Oklahoma. She had two siblings, Karen and Jim Devous. JoAnn grew up on the family farm. After attending school in Freedom, she married Eugene Dixon. Together they had Julie Lynae, Mark Anthony and Amy Jo. In 1995, JoAnn and partner Carl Stamm were transferred to Patterson, Louisiana before they both retired from ANR Pipeline.
Soon after retiring, JoAnn came back to Woodward to be close to family. She was very passionate about sewing, cooking and painting. For quite a few years, she ran a small business for painting, wallpapering and texturing to keep herself busy. JoAnn was highly capable of just about anything. She could work all day outside in the Oklahoma weather, come home and cook a five star meal, then spend the evening with her family. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marquita, sister Karen Deason, brother Jim Devous, her children, Julie Bond, Mark Dixon and Amy Jo Lyon and her long time partner, Carl W. Stamm.
