Janet Leigh Gaston Zamberlin

zamberlin-j-l
May 8, 1949 ~ November 25, 2024

Jeanette Leigh Gaston Zamberlin was born May 8, 1949 and crossed into heaven on November 25, 2024. Her parents were Deke and Betty Gaston. When she was 3 years old she contracted polio and was hospitalized at Saint Mary's Hospital in Enid in the polio ward, spending some time in the iron lung. There she was encouraged to fight the disease and be strong. That continued when she came home from the hospital. Her attitude when others tried to help her was "I can do it myself!" That attitude continued throughout her life, even when she was no longer able.

She was saved at an early age and was dedicated to serving the Lord playing the piano in the Fort Supply Baptist Church until she graduated high school in 1967. She began college at OBU and then transferred to OU, receiving her degree in psychology. After graduation she joined Campus Crusade for Christ and moved to San Bernadino, California. She loved serving God both there and in Knoxville, Tennessee. She traveled overseas to China and Japan telling others about Jesus and His love for them. She made many friends both during her work and at home, coming home every year to raise support for her ministry. She attended Rosemead, a part of Biola University, and earned a doctorate in psychology. On January 5, 1991 she married Jack Zamberlin in Fullerton, California and they made their home there. In 1994 they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. She loved OU football and while living in Edmond held season tickets. She loved taking Dad and Phil to the games. She worked as a psychologist at Oklahoma Christian Counseling. Later she served as Director there. In 1994 she retired and she and Jack moved to the family home in Fort Supply. She was a member of the Fort Supply Baptist Church where she ministered to all with her knowledge of the Bible and love for the Lord. She helped with Bible School and the children always loved Miss Jeanette! She was an avid reader and when she could no longer hold a book she listened to audio books and loved sharing what she was reading. She loved sitting at the bedroom window watching the birds, especially the kite hawks along with the squirrels and rabbits in the backyard. She also loved to watch children as they left school in the afternoon. Her husband Jack was devoted to her care.

Jeanette is survived by her beloved husband Jack, sister Ralinda Wilson and husband Ronnie, nephews Jimmy Wilson and wife Tracy, Joel Wilson and wife Sharen, niece Janna Jackson and husband Kevin, great nephew Wade Wilson, wife Taylor and their children Kasen and Kally, great nephews Weston, Deke, and Gunner Wilson, and great nieces Brianna, Lauren, Ava and Danielle Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Deke and Betty Gaston and brother Phil.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Ft. Supply Baptist Church with Reverend Todd White officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
