Wayne Ellis Kornele

Wayne Kornele, 81- year- old Fort Supply resident, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Fort Supply United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Wayne Ellis Kornele was born on December 5, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Albert Alvin Kornele and Orva Ellen (Fowler) Loomis. He grew up on the family farm and was raised by Lewis and Orva Loomis, north of Fort Supply and graduated from Fort Supply High School in 1960. After high school Wayne worked as a carpenter building houses with his brother. He continued building houses for many years. Wayne was united in marriage to Wanda Lea Loomis on May 7, 1961 on the Loomis family farm, north of Fort Supply. They made their first home in Woodward before building a home in Fort Supply where they continued to live. Wayne worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for William S. Key and Western State Hospital for over 27 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Fort Supply United Methodist Church and Fort Supply Lions Club. Wayne loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, working on his farm, coyote hunting, attending rodeos, playing pitch and supporting grandkids in their many activities.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Wanda Kornele of the home; two sons: Bryan Wayne Kornele and wife Michelle, Kevin Charles Kornele and wife Amanda; one daughter, Teresa LeAnn Latta and husband Rod; 10 grandchildren: Latisha Dunham and husband Tra, Colt Latta and wife Natalie, Tabitha McCartor and husband JB, Jason Kornele, Benjamin Kornele, Skye Kornele, Braxton Kornele and wife Aly, Kami Kornele, Wyatt Duke, Weston Duke; 12 great-grandchildren: Kasen, Kreed, Kale and Krue Dunham, Hallie, Landon, and Rhett McCartor, Royce Hendricks, Kennedy and Ryla King, Wes and Bex Wayne Kornele; other relatives and many friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Orva Loomis, father Albert Kornele, step-father, Lewis Loomis, four brothers: LeRoy James Kornele, Arnold Ray Kornele, Richard Emil Kornele, and his twin brother Dwayne Elvis Kornele, two sisters Alberta Orva Stout and Verta Lee Kitzman, mother-in-law, Geneva Loomis, father-in-law, Charles Loomis and one son Bradley Ellis Kornele.
