Woodward, Okla. — Beverly Williams, 74 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Mooreland Heritage Manor in Mooreland . Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Woodward Church of Christ with James Rucker and R.D. Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Beverly (Bell) Williams was born on March 16, 1936 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Dr. Lacy and Noma Opal (Wharton) Bell. She attended Hollis schools, graduating from Hollis High School in 1954. Beverly was united in marriage to Billy Don Williams on July 10, 1954 at her parents home in Hollis, Oklahoma. They made their home in Weatherford until Bill graduated from college. After his graduation they lived in Tulsa and Oklahoma City before being transferred to Woodward in 1962. They purchased the Hank Heaton Oil Company, which later became Bill Williams Oil Company in 1965. Beverly kept the books for Bill at Bill Williams until they retired in 1983.
She was a long time member of the Woodward Church of Christ. Beverly was a member of the Woodward Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering at the hospital for several years. She had also served as president of the Porcelain Artist Club several times. Beverly loved her family and her church family.
She is survived by her three children, Lisa Guthrie and husband David of Woodward, Billy Don Williams, Jr. and wife Robin of Edmond, Linda Molone and husband Don of Woodward; one sister, Virginia Cargill of Fort Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Renate Bell of Grove; eight grandchildren, Candace McGinnis and husband Billie of Norman, Allison Guthrie of Norman, Natalie Sullivan and husband Matt of Austin, William Guthrie of Woodward, Meagan Molone of Woodward, Joshua Molone of Woodward, Seth Williams of Edmond, Sy Williams of Edmond; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra McGinnis and Tracen Molone; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Don Williams on August 26, 2004, brother, Dr. Ben H. Bell, sister, Mary Jeff Cole and husband Darwin, brother-in-law, Howard Cargill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Church of Christ Building Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
