Frances Louise Struble Widick

Louise Widick, 83 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday April 9, 2024 at her home in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Frances Louise (Struble) Widick was born on August 3, 1940 in Sumner County, Kansas to Ray Clifford and Frances Irene (Fox) Struble. She grew up in Wellington, Kansas and graduated from Wellington High School with the class of 1958. Louise was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Widick on November 22, 1959 in Wellington, Kansas. They made their first home in Wellington and lived in Liberal, Kansas from 1960 until 1969. They settled in Woodward in 1969 and have lived here since that time. Louise worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell and had a home daycare for numerous kids in the 1970's.

Louise enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds, cooking, driving her volkswagen, being with Bob, and listening to Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson. Her favorite times were spent with her family especially her kids and grandkids. She took good care of her dogs and cats. The dogs watched over and protected her.

She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Robert Widick of the home; two sons: Kendall Widick and wife Sheri of Woodward, James Widick and wife Stephanie of Alva; grandchildren: Devin Widick, Bailie Widick and Judge Widick; two brothers, Clint Struble of Derby, Kansas, Randy Struble and wife Donna of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; two sisters: Karen Anderson of Wellington, Kansas, Gloria Daniels and husband Larry of Pittsburg, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Frances Struble, her grandparents, and her beloved dogs Jo, Bunny, and Elvis.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice, Daniel Lee, Kennedy Wilson, Tiffany Cornejo, and Chelsea Reed. A special thank you to her caregivers, Tina Whitworth, Belinda Ward, and Carol Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WOOF Pet Rescue with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
