Bobby Lee Westenhaver

June 29, 1934 ~ May 19, 2020

Bob Westenhaver, 85 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 23, 2020 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Bobby Lee Westenhaver was born on June 29, 1934 in River View Flats near Camargo, Oklahoma; he was the son of James Benson and Laura Easter (Boatman) Westenhaver. Bob attended the River View Flats community school eventually transferring to Camargo Schools, graduating from Camargo High School. Bob was united in marriage to Darlene Giles on June 2, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico. They made their home in Borger, Texas. Bob worked in the mines in Colorado for a short time, he then worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger, Texas. Bob then returned to the family farm to help his parents. Bob and Darlene then moved to Perryton, Texas to work in construction with his brother Gene. Eventually Bob and Darlene returned to Woodward to start his own construction company, Westenhaver Concrete.

Bob enjoyed playing his guitar, and trying to teach his kids to play as well. He loved being with his wife, Darlene for a lifetime. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving the circle with friend Charlie Canfield. He loved playing music with his brothers and friends. Bob was a member of the Woodward Rifle and Pistol Club and helped the club as the Safety Instructor and he was a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Westenhaver of the home; two sons: Jim Westenhaver, Ronny Westenhaver and wife Brenda; one daughter, Mary Myers and husband Randy; six grandchildren: Stephanie U'Ren and husband Daniel, Sarah Arnold and husband Jeff, Shannon Cron and husband John, Jesse Dirickson and husband Dylan, Jeana Hurley and Nick Westenhaver; great-grandchildren: Amanda Kierstien Hamill, Aidan and Liam U'Ren, Christian and Camden Arnold, Zandra and Memphis Cron, Lyric Westenhaver, Ember Dirickson, London Furr, Ethan Furr, Nathan Furr; one brother Donald Westenhaver and wife Ireta; sister-in-law, Lucy Venable; special cousin Shirley Canfield and lifetime friend Charles (Babe) Fairchild; several nieces and nephews, and many other friends and neighbors over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cotton and Laura Westenhaver, sister Francis Badley, brothers, Kenneth, Gene, and Junior Westenhaver, granddaughter Anastasia Myers, brother-in-law, Albert Badley and sister-in-law Alberta Westenhaver.
