Daniel Wayne Ward, 57, of Woodward, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Woodward Church of Christ. Following the service, there will be a burial at the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, OK.

Dan was born on April 13, 1961 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was raised by his mother, Nina Rowe Hunter and greatly influenced by his grandparents. He grew up in a busy home with his three brothers and a sister. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with aunts & uncles. One of his favorite pastimes was working on cars with his grandfather, J.W. Hunter. He attended Lawton High School and worked at the family business, Hunter Mobile Gas Station. Dan was united in marriage to Rhonda Perkins on December 24, 1977. To this union a daughter was born, Jessica Michelle Ward. He then went on to serve in the Air Force from 1978 to 1982. After settling in Woodward, he started working for Carl & Jean Rutledge at Carls Machine Shop. Little did he know what a great impact Carl would have on his life. He would be the one that introduced him to a new life in Christ. Dan started attending Living Word Fellowship where he then met Keri Van Dorn and later married her on October 1, 1994. This began his career in the Sonic industry as a franchise owner and operator. Dan & Keri lovingly adopted two sons, Logan Dwight Ward and Tanner Wayne Ward. Later they were blessed with a daughter, Keridan Kaye Frances Ward. Between golfing, showing cattle, and daddy daughter dances, he made his children a priority. Not only was he a devoted father and husband, but a great friend to everyone he met. He was known for being kind, compassionate, and investing in the lives of those around him.

Dan is survived by his children; Jessica Ward, Logan Ward, Tanner Ward, and wife Jessica, and Keridan Ward; two grandchildren Connor Bugge & Sophia Green. He was also survived by three brothers Pete Ward, Buddy Ward, and wife Tina, Wayne Rowe, and one sister Dee Ward Witt, as well as numerous other family members.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents; J.W. Hunter and Nadine Hunter; father Burton Ward and mother Nina Hunter; former mother-in-law Kaye Van Dorn, and his nephew Trevor W
