Marilyn Waggoner, 78 year old Woodward resident passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in Enid. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, March 25, 2024 in the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Church of the Nazarene with the funeral accepting the contributions.
Marilyn Joyce (Louthan) Waggoner was born on April 13, 1945 in Chester, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Howard Raymond and Lila Mae (Hedrick) Louthan. She grew up in the Chester area, attending school in Richmond and she graduated from Mutual High School. She then attended beauty school in Enid. Marilyn was united in marriage to Eugene Waggoner on April 23, 1966 in Seiling, Oklahoma. They made their home in Sharon before moving to Woodward. They were blessed with two children, Machelle and Jeff. Marilyn owned and operated "Marilyn's Final Touch" a gift shop in Woodward for many years.
Marilyn was long time active member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene, serving on the Women's Ministry Board.
Marilyn loved spending time with her family. She loved watching OU football, always wearing her crimson and cream. She enjoyed traveling to Santa Fe with Eugene. She enjoyed working in her yard and always had the most beautiful flowers. Marilyn always looked forward to March when she would make Blarney Stones with her grandkids. She never missed her five o'clock dinner at Wagg's with her Wagg's family.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Eugene of the home; daughter, Machelle Steuart and husband Barry of Tulsa; son, Jeff Waggoner and wife Alisha of Woodward; grandchildren, Barrett Steuart and wife Elizabeth of Bixby; Haylee Steuart of Tulsa; Hayden Steuart of Stillwater; Saylor Waggoner; and Trent Waggoner both of Woodward; brother, Verl Louthan and wife Judy; brother-in-law, Stewart Ray; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lila Louthan; and her sister, Joan Ray.
