Joann VanKlaveren, 86 year old Woodward resident passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Vivian Joann VanKlaveren was born on September 17, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Herbert William and Irene Dorothy (Kwasinski) Tucek. Joann was reared in Allegan, Michigan where she attended school and graduated from Allegan High School. Joann was united in marriage to Henry Carl VanKlaveren on August 25, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Michigan where the couple made their home. In 1964 the family moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where they raised their five children. Joann was a devoted mother and worked tirelessly to care for her children, they were her world. In 1977 they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2008 Joann and Hank moved to Woodward to be closer to their daughters.
Joann enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and cards, but her family was her greatest joy.
Joann is survived by her children, Rick VanKlaveren and wife Stacey of Granger, Indiana; Renee Cudd of Woodward; Bruce VanKlaveren and wife Torey of Scottsdale, Arizona; Brian VanKlaveren and wife Rene of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Lori Reddoch of Woodward; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Dolores Foster and husband Fred of Saint Joe, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
