Ralph E. Thompson

Woodward : Graveside services for Ralph E. Thompson, 87, will be at 11 AM Monday in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Yellwege officiating. Woodward VFW Post #1355 will conduct the military rites. Arrangements are under the direction of's Zwanziger/Stecher Funeral Home.

He was born July 19, 1909, in Woodward to Dan and Mina Bunch Thompson and died Monday, December 23, 1996, at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.

He served as a Sea Bee during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was a retired operating engineer with Union Local 150 in Joliet.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Stone City VFW Post #2199 of Joliet.

He is survived by a cousin, Joyce (Don) Deal of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by one brother.
