Fannie Mairie (Crain) Taylor

Fannie Taylor, 86 year old Oklahoma City resident and retired business owner, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Billings Funeral Home in Woodward and graveside funeral services and burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Janet Fitz officiating. Visitation will also be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Fannie Marie (Crain) Taylor was born on November 29, 1934 in Woodward, Oklahoma to John and Anna (Boyle) Crain. Fannie grew up on her family's farm west of Woodward along with her brother Harold Ralph and later her sister Edna Mae. She attended and later graduated from Tangier Public Schools in 1952. Fannie was united in marriage to Clifford Lee Taylor on August 12, 1956 in Woodward, Oklahoma. After living in Woodward for a year the couple moved to Oklahoma City where Lee's business Taylor Truck Lines relocated. Fannie did bookkeeping for her husband's business until Lee's passing in May of 1990. During this time also she worked over 25 years in the office of Dick Christman Appliance at their different Oklahoma City metro locations. In 1985, along with JC Stavinoha they purchased Norman Walker TV and Appliance in the Britton area of Oklahoma City until 1994 where she was involved in the Britton Neighbor Association and then later retired.

Fannie was always known as being a good neighbor and friend who shared in their happiness and sorrows. She loved her flowers and plants that she always had growing all year round. Fannie and Lee were avid Oklahoma Sooner Football fans.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Lucille Crain of Woodward; her nephews, Ralph Lee Crain and wife Lawanda of Woodward, Wesley Crain and wife Marilyn of Woodward, her nieces Patty Huckaby and husband JC of Dodge City, Kansas, Melissa Conine Devine and husband Kevin of Woodward, and Meleah Conine of Woodward; great-nieces and nephews, Michelle Blandon, Timothy Crain, Derek Crain, Jared Crain, Lacie Huckaby, Brittany Huckaby, Kaidan Conine, and Zachary Conine; many other relatives and many close friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Taylor, her parents John and Anna Crain, her in laws Edgar and Cecile Taylor, her brother HR Crain, her sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Mike Conine, and niece Pam Crain.
