Woodward, Okla. — Charles Stout, 83 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Charlie Graves officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Willis Charles Stout was boirn on March 3, 1930 in Haskew, Oklahoma; he was the son of William Carl and Opal Velva (White) Stout. He grew to manhood in Woodward County on the family farm west of Woodward and attended school at Tangier. Charles was interested in farming and ranching and spent his early adulthood helping his parents on their farm. On January 7, 1983, Charles was married to Vivian Martha Hanson in Enid, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward. Charles worked at the USDA Field Station in the fifties and sixties. He loved living on the farm and enjoyed his horses and cattle. Since Charles and Vivian had no children, he thoroughly enjoyed his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed the Friday night dances at the Senior Citizens and visiting with friends.
Charles was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two brothers, Bill Stout; Herb Stout and wife Marian both of Woodward; one brother-in-law George Chas e of Alva; seven nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Woodward with the funeral home accepting the memorials.
