Bruce Lee Stout

Bruce L. Stout, 69 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at the First Methodist Church with Reverend Daniel Rickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Bruce Lee Stout was born March 1, 1956 in Woodward, Oklahoma, the only child of Billy Lee Stout of Tangier, Oklahoma, and Elsie May Elliott of Hinton, Oklahoma. Bruce grew up in Woodward, surrounded by family and cousins. Bruce enjoyed working at his family farm, participating in FFA and stock shows, and driving fast cars. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1974 and attended and graduated from Okmulgee Technology. He worked as a welder for Oklahoma Natural Gas, became Operating Foreman, and devoted over 20 years. Bruce married his high school sweetheart, Tammy Carr, in June of 1980. The couple made their home in Woodward and welcomed their daughters Kara in 1985 and Maleah in 1988. Bruce enjoyed being a father, grandfather, being involved in his church, stock car racing, welding, tinkering at the shop, taking motorcycle trips, and playing dominos and cards with friends. His pride and joy were his daughters, but starting his own business, Stout Welding, and working all over the Texas panhandle was his favorite accomplishment. His true calling was being a grandfather to his little buddy, William, born in 2024.

Bruce was strong, hardworking, and tough, both mentally and physically. His health struggles did not define him. His ability to adapt and continue living the life he wanted is a true testament to his strength. Bruce was a beloved by many childhood and lifelong friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife, Tammy, and daughters, Kara and Brian Chitty, Maleah and Jeff Albright, and grandson William Albright. He is survived by his Aunt, Donna Hunt of Odessa, Texas, and Aunt, Marilyn Stout along with several cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
