Fieta Jean Clements Smith

Jean Smith, 65 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in Seiling. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Fleta Jean (Clements) Smith was born on November 23, 1956 in El Paso, Texas to Don and Letha (Carpenter) Glaze Clements. Jean grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. She was united in marriage to Clyde Ray Smith on July 12, 1980 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Allen. They made their home in Woodward and have continued living there. Jean and Clyde owned and operated Leroy's Ready Mix in Woodward. In Jeans early years she worked for the Fruit of the Loom Factory and Hopkins Shoe Store.

Jean was a member of the Woodward Moose Lodge 2121 Women's Division, the Elks Lodge, and the Boy Scouts of America. She was the first woman inducted into the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow of the Great Salt Plains. Jean was also the Assistant Scout Counselor of Troop 250 of Woodward. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, riding motorcycles, the sand dunes, NASCAR, sewing, knitting, and camping. Most of all Jean loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Clyde Smith of the home; one son, Allen Smith and wife Macy of Chester; two grandchildren: Lexiss Smith and C.J. Smith, both of Chester; two brothers: Donald Clements and wife Connie of Elk City, Mike Clements of Woodward; sister-in-law, Marcella Donovan and husband Chuck of Mustang; special friends Mike Caldwell and wife Charisse, Brenda Huenergardt, and Audrey Keck; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her step-dad, Dale Glaze, and brothers, Jerry Castor and Nathan Clements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seiling Nursing Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
