He was involved in FFA while in high school and he loved watching the Oklahoma Sooners and the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed gardening and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Fran Sissons; two sons: Wayne Sissons and wife Ronda, Eric Sissons; one daughter Rebecca Anthony and husband Ben; three grandchildren: Rachel Anthony, Jacob Anthony, Veronica Sissons; three brothers: James Sissons, Franklin Sissons and wife Kathy, Leonard Sissons and wife Lucinda; three sisters: Stella Moser, Edith Huckaby and husband Lee, Loretta Wanter and husband Marion; other relatives and friends.
