Jeannetta Ann (McMahon) Shuyler

Ann Shuyler, 88 year old Woodward resident passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2024 in Vici. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2024 in the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Billings Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Jeannetta Ann (McMahon) Shuyler was born March 19, 1936 in Curtis, Oklahoma to Ernest Olen and Olive (Grove) McMahon. She grew alongside her two sisters in Woodward, Oklahoma and attended the Woodward Public Schools.

Following her mother's marriage to Alvin Fowler, she welcomed eight additional siblings, along with three half-siblings residing in Washington state.

On July 19, 1952, she married FW Shuyler from Selman, Oklahoma. The couple initially lived in Woodward before relocating to Adrian, Texas, where FW was employed at the Bridwell Ranch. They later resided in Mooreland and Elk City, Oklahoma before settling back in Woodward. Ann and FW became parents to four children: Gayla, Sabrina, Terry, and Nathan.

Ann was employed at the Katie Cafe and subsequently became the Food Service Manager for the Woodward Public Schools in 1968. She worked for 31 years until her retirement in 1999. After retiring she became an Avon Representative, delivered Meals on Wheels plus helped with the Woodward Food Pantry.

In addition to her professional commitments, Ann accepted Christ in her life and was a very active member in the First Baptist Church, Woodward until her health declined. Ann and FW loved getting together with family and many of their friends (especially Marlene and Ronnie Miller) to play cards and dominos.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest McMahon; her mother Olive Fowler; her brothers Sonny Fowler; Bobby Fowler; Donnie Fowler; and Ernie McMahon. Her sisters, Wanda (McMahon) Merchant, Alice (McMahon) Hale (husband Vestal Hale); and Ellen (Fowler) Brumley; her sisters-in-law Georgette and Midge Fowler. Also her step-dad Alvin Fowler and brother-in-law David Janow and a family adopted brother Harry Arnold. Also her father and mother-in-law Fred and Ilene Shuyler and her sister and brother-in-law Pearline and Wilbur Harris.

Jeannetta Ann is survived by her husband of 72 years, FW Shuyler, children; Gayla Shuyler of Woodward, OK; Sabrina (Mike) Jones of Sharon, KS; Terry Shuyler of Vici, OK; Nathan (Rebecca) of Mutual, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Chanda (Tanner) Bush; Micha (Brad) Werner; and Olivia Shuyler; her great grandchildren; Lacey Jones; Colton Bush; Carson Bush; Rhett Werner; Bryson Werner; and Gracen Werner. Also her sister Alvina Janow, sisters-in-law; Sandy and Diana Fowler; brothers Ronnie, Danny, and Jimmy (Brenda) Fowler; brother-in-law Jack Merchant, as well as her sisters Donna (McMahon) Hamlet and Barbara (McMahon) Keller; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made out to the First Baptist Church with the funeral home accepting the donations.
