Laurel Lee (Graves) Shepherd was born on August 23, 1934 in Keenan, Oklahoma to Charles and Mary (Hoffert) Graves. She married Ronald Edward Shepherd on August 3, 1952. Laurel was always a hard worker to help provide for her family. She had worked as a waitress for many years, then went to work for Western State Hospital until her retirement. Her children remember their mother as a loving, caring mother who always went to her children’s school activities, especially sports. She loved to go camping with her kids and grandkids. She also made three trips to the Phillippines where she had the opportunity to see her great-grandson while she was there. She enjoyed the many festivals, riding the small boats between the Philippine islands. She raised ducks, chickens and turkeys while in the Philippines for seven months. She truly enjoyed being with her family. She was active at the Senior Center in Woodward before her health had failed.

Celebration of Life graveside services is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Elmwood Cemetery. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Centennial Hospice at 14003 Quail Springs Pkwy, Suite A, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73134 or a local charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Baptist Village Nursing Home and Centennial Hospice for her care.
