Funeral: 11:00 AM Monday, February 1st, 2016 - Billings Funeral Home Chapel of Woodward

Interment: Monday, February 1st, 2016 - Elmwood Cemetery Melanie R. Shaw, 28 year old Mooreland resident, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the Seiling Hospital as a result of a tragic automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Shane Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Melanie Renee Shaw was born on May 2, 1987 in Woodward, Oklahoma to her proud parents Paul Edward and Kellie Renee (Poole) Shaw. Melanie grew up in Woodward and attended Woodward schools. She attended High Plains Technology Center and received her CNA Certificate and her Business Administrator Assistant Certificate. Melanie was also a certified 911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher.

Melanie has lived in the Woodward area most of her life and she made many friends and acquaintances. Her favorite things in life were being with friends and family laughing and having a good time. She loved getting the family together and cooking great meals, decorating the house with Mom, getting her hair done with Kristina, collecting old stuff like her Dad, shopping and target shooting with her brother Patrick.

She was a very loving and caring person to all who knew her and cared very much for her family and all her friends. Melanie’s pride and joy was her new baby daughter Zaylee Grace, mere words cannot express how much Melanie loved her daughter. Zaylee couldn’t ask for a more loving and caring mother, which they know Zaylee will miss her Mommy tremendously. The family loved Melanie very much and couldn’t ask for a more caring and loving daughter. It is tragic that she was taken from us too soon, we will all miss her being in our lives.

She is survived by her precious daughter, Zaylee Grace Hill of the home; parents, Paul and Kellie Shaw of Woodward; brother Patrick Shaw of Woodward; significant other, Eric Hill of Woodward; grandparents, Jerry and Vonnie Poole of Woodward, Robert Currier of Coldwater, Kansas; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Melanie was preceded in death by her first daughter, Raylee Edith on May 9, 2013, grandmother Edna Curier, great-grandparents, Pete and Rose Miller, Mabel and Raymond Ramsey and Jim W. Poole.
