Thaine August Schickedanz

May 28, 1934 ~ November 17, 2022

Thaine Schickedanz, 88 year old Fargo resident, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at his home in Fargo surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain David Worsham officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Thaine August Schickedanz was born on May 28, 1934 at the family home in Gage, Oklahoma to Tom and Bertha (McCaslin) Schickedanz. Thaine grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo High School. He was united in marriage to Anita Marie Brown on February 4, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home on the farm south of Fargo. They also lived in Medicine Lodge, Kansas for a short time and spent two years in Stinnett, Texas before moving back to the farm south of Fargo, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Thaine worked in the oilfield for many years pumping wells. Thaine drove a school bus for Fargo Schools, worked at the Farmers Coop in Fargo and farmed and ranched his whole life. He dreamed until the end just to be able to take care of cattle

He always attended his children's and grandchildren's activities which included Stock shows, sporting events, and the Arts. Thaine also enjoyed cooking and taking anyone to look at his cows. Thaine enjoyed rasing sheep for many years. He loved going with Monte to see his cows. Thaine also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

He is survived by his three daughters: Monica Schickedanz of Amarillo, Texas, Thana McLeod and husband Jeff of Conway, Arkansas, Kathy Jones of Fargo; six grandchildren: Danni Hixson and husband Scotty, Stephen Taos Jones and wife Jackie, Geronica Tucker and husband Ben Gray, Gerald Tucker and wife Draya, Faith McLeod, Caleb McLeod; 12 great-grandchildren: Jaquon Tucker, Jayben Gray, Berkli Tucker, Molli Tucker, Sophie Tucker, Sloane Tucker, Dallas Price, Dusty Price, Kade Jones, Kale Jones, and Kamryn Jones; other relatives and many friends.

Thaine was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Bertha Schickedanz, his loving wife, Anita, his sister Verla Smith, one great-granddaughter, Trinity Jones, one great-grandson Damron Price, and his son-in-law, Stephen Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
