Diane Savely, 63 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Lola Diane Savely was born on May 20, 1953 in Shattuck, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Lawrence Foster and Bonnie Jean (Greenlee) Price. Diane grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School. She then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma as a Music major. Diane was united in marriage to Rod Savely on September 29, 1984 in Woodward, Oklahoma.
She was a musician in several bands in Oklahoma City and Woodward during high school and college. After college, she returned to Woodward and worked at Woodward Waukesha-Pearce Industries. Later, Diane worked as a Legal Secretary for two different law firms, Harold Lowrey and later Doug Burns until the birth of her first son, Robbie. At that time, Diane dedicated her life to her family and she loved being a stay at home mom.
Music was Diane’s #1 passion., She was proficient in several different music instruments and she played an instrument almost every single day. Diane also enjoyed cooking for her family. While her children were attending elementary schools, she was a volunteer in their classrooms. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Rod Savely of the home; two sons, Robbie Savely and wife Hailee; Ryan Savely; two daughters, Melonie White and husband Greg, Toni Savely; four grandchildren, Kyndal White, Ashlynn White, Connor Reeves, Parker Savely; brothers, sisters, spouses, and kids: Arthur Price and wife Paulette, Melvin Price and wife Phillis, John Price, Ada Price, Avis Canton and husband Bill, Isaac Price and wife Joy; in-laws, Leon and Brenda Coss and Randy Savely; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Foster Price and her mother, Bonnie Jean Foster.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
