MARCELLA RUTH COOMBES RUTTMAN

The funeral for Marcella Ruth Coombes Ruttman, 82, of Mooreland, will be 2 p.m. today, Nov. 29, 2009, at First Christian Church, Woodward. The Rev. Gene Spillman will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery , Woodward. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home , Woodward.

She was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Woodward to Gano Edward and Minnie Ida Reynolds Coombes and died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Woodward Regional Hospital.

She was a graduate of Woodward High School, then began work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1980 as chief operator supervisor.

She married Kenneth M. Ruttman Jan. 21, 1950, in New Mexico. She was a member of First Christian Church of Woodward, the Ruth Group and the BPW Club. She also served on the Eldercare board and at the Woodward museum.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Amber Kay Heflin; one brother, Lewis Coombes; one sister, Betty Coombes; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer division.
