Arthur (Artie) Levent Robinson

Artie Robinson, 87 year old Woodward resident, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Crown Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Heath Clem officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Levint Robinson was born on June 20, 1934 in Woodward, Oklahoma; he was the son of Arthur Leisure and Anna Elizabeth (Parsons) Robinson. Artie was reared in Woodward, attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School with the class of 1953. He married his high school sweet heart Dixie Ann Blair on June 1, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Woodward. Artie and Dixie made their home on a farm southeast of Woodward in a two room house. Later they purchased a military barracks and moved it to the farm where they remained 68 years. Artie and Dixie were blessed with four children, Debbie, Robert, Randy, and Dayna.

Artie worked for G. W. Gentry Oil Company and he also operated Artie's Texaco on the corner of 22nd and Oklahoma for several years. He then went to work for Beaver Express as a truck driver then dock foreman, retiring after 35 plus years. Artie earned the Award of American Farmer while in the FFA and throughout his life Artie was involved in agriculture and also enjoyed woodworking. He operated a dairy farm, farmed and ranched. He worked in town so he could raise his family on the farm.

Artie and Dixie sold their cattle operation in 2000 to their son, and moved to Elk City in 2021 to live in the Baptist Village Assisted Living Center.

Artie is survived by his wife Dixie, two sons, Robert Robinson and wife Kari, Randy Robinson all of Woodward; daughter, Dayna Griffith and husband Paul of Collinsville; 11 grandchildren, Brian Lair, Alisha Corbett, Amber Mullins, Andrea Roberts, Amanda Mabra, Sara Rains, Holly Fabian, Correne Weber, Brandy Brouwers, Kimberly Hunter, and Daniel Griffith; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a fourth on the way; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debbie Lair, sister, Wynona Waggoner, grandchildren, DeAnna Sell and Amy Wheelwright.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Crown Heights Baptist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
