Sandra Sue (Wilcox) Purcell was born May 4, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; the daughter of Arthur and Clara Wilcox. She grew up in Yale and attended Yale schools. Later on Sandra received her GED from Woodward High School and made lifelong friends with the teachers. She married her childhood sweetheart, Larry (Jack) Purcell on January 10, 1955 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Yale before moving to Laverne in 1961 because of Jacks work with Sun Oil Company. Sandra and Jack owned and operated the K&W Motel in Laverne for eleven years before selling. In 1980, they moved to Woodward and have lived here since that time.
She was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church. Sandra enjoyed raising and taking care of her flowers and her yard and she loved her cats. She also loved very much being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Purcell of the home in Woodward; one son Larry Jack Purcell Jr. of Underwood, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Sandy Purcell of May; one sister, Barbara Sue Weaver of Ardmore; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
