George Price, 91 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Woodward Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that all in attendance wear a face mask.
George Bennett Price was born on April 29, 1929 in Richmond, Virginia to William Bennett and Connie Lee Price. He was reared in Bittleville, North Carolina and attended school there. George was inducted into the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Corporal before being honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jane Williams on September 1, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas. They made their home in San Angelo before later moving to Woodward. George was employed in the oil and gas industry as a work over rig supervisor. He also worked restoring antiques with Dorothy at the Cob Web antique store.
He enjoyed drag racing, golfing, doing work around the house, building blue bird houses, and working on anything since he was a jack of all trades.
George was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, great grandson and his loving wife Dorothy.
He is survived by sons, Jack Price, Bill Price and wife Kathy, Mark Price and wife Velda; one daughter Susan Stephenson and husband Keith; 8 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Woof Pet Rescue with the funeral home accepting the donations.
