Sharon Kay Potts passed away in the early morning hours of November 4, 2019 at the age of 73. Funeral services will be held at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Sharon Kay (Smith) Potts was born in Mooreland, Oklahoma on November 13, 1945 to Opal and Ernest Smith. She grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma and attended Woodward schools until her graduation in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Potts on November 14, 1964.
After years of working in the nursing profession in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Kansas as a Certified Nurse Assistant, she returned to Woodward and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing on May 13, 1998. She worked in various hospitals in surrounding states until she returned to Woodward in 2001 and began working as the night charge nurse at Northwestern Behavioral Health in Fort Supply, Oklahoma. She enjoyed working with mental health patients, helping them to find the hope, strength and courage to live healthy lives. She retired from Northwestern Behavioral Health in 2013.
Sharon is survived by her family, daughter, Tommi Grace, son, Ivan Potts, daughter-in-law, Nichole Potts and grandchildren: Nikki Potts, Jade Potts, Matthew Potts, Melonie Anderson, and Feathered Potts. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
