The funeral service for Charlene Pitcher, 77, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Canton First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward, OK at 3:30 p.m. under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK. Visitation will be at the Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, 400 W. Pine, Canton, OK Wednesday afternoon July 23rd and Thursday morning until 11:00 a.m.
Charlene was born on September 23, 1936 at Woodward, Oklahoma to Charles and Louise Pflum and departed this life on July 20, 2014 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, OK.
She married Vernal Pitcher on September 19, 1954 at Woodward, OK. She was a stay at home Mom and resided at Waynoka, OK. She enjoyed traveling and camping in her Fifth Wheel with Vernal and playing cards with her friends. She was a member of Canton First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernal Pitcher and her parents. Surviving are her two sons Rob Roy Pitcher and wife Deb of Amarillo, TX; Kirk Alan Pitcher of Canton, OK.; one daughter Tina Louise Kanatzar and husband Mitch Kanatzar of Topeka, KS; six grandchildren, Joey Pitcher, Jamie Pitcher, Christy Ledford and Katy Pitcher all of Amarillo, TX. and Sheena Brillhart and Misty Kanatzar both of Topeka, KS.; eleven great-grandchildren, Londyn and Brilyn of Topeka, KS., Brianne, Makenna, Brynlee, Molly, Ruby, Davion, Nehemiah, Kamora and Brian all of Amarillo, TX.
Memorials may be made to the Canton First Baptist Church with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK. 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
