Regina Pena, 73 year old Woodward resident, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 in Shattuck. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in the Elmwood Cemetery. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Regina Martha (Wolf) Pena was born on January 5, 1951 in Luckenwalde, Germany to Karl and Martha Wolf. She grew up in Luckenwalde and Bensheim Germany and attended and graduated from Joeseph-Heckler-Schule. Regina was united in marriage to Robert Lee Pena on August 3, 1971 in San Antonio, Texas. They made their first home in Woodward and she has lived there since that time. Regina learned to speak English by watching soap opera's and game shows. Regina worked at TG&Y where she started out in the pet department and later worked her way up into the business office after taking night classes before it became McCrory/Bargain Time. She worked at Walmart for a short period of time before opening up and managing Family Dollar, both Dollar General Stores and Dollar Tree before retiring in December of 2023.
She enjoyed bowling, hiking in Germany, Bingo, traveling, going to the casino and her Christmas Hallmark movies. Her favorite times were with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
She is survived by one son, Michael Lee Pena of Joliet, Illinois; one daughter Daniela Castor and husband Shayne of Woodward; four grandchildren: Kayli Nelson and husband David of Woodward, Kari Castor of Woodward; Alexis and William Clark of Broken Arrow; six great-grandchildren: River, Baron, Rowan, Reed, Carter, Stassi and one soon to be great grandchild, she was so excited when she heard the news; other relatives and friends.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Martha Wolf, half-brother, Hans Jurgen, and her husband Robert Lee Pena.
