Jackie Miller, 58 year old Woodward Business Owner, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his home in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ann Wasson officiating. A private family burial will be held earlier in the day. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Jackie Glenn Miller was born on April 1, 1956 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Delmer Glenn and Norma June (Lehman) Miller. Jackie grew up in Woodward, attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1974. He was united in marriage to Leslie Ann Dougherty on December 28, 1974 in Woodward, Oklahoma and they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They made their home in Woodward and were blessed with two sons, Jaron and Josh.
Jackie went to work in the oilfield for Garvie Drilling, Drillers Inc. and then went to work for Hickman Drilling in the mid-1980's. He started his own business, Miller Equipment and Repair in 1998 and in 2003 he started Woodward Steel.
He and Leslie attended the First Presbyterian Church. Jackie enjoyed traveling, fishing, hiking, motorcycle riding and working. Most of all he loved being with his boys, playing with his granddaughters, and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife Leslie Miller of the home; two sons, Jaron Miller and wife Randi of Woodward, Josh Miller of Woodward; one brother Terry Miller of Woodward; four grandchildren, Maci, Katie, Jaislee and Kenedi Miller; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Kathleen Dougherty of Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Teresa and Ron Vassar of Woodward; Nelson and Joni Dougherty of Weatherford; Joni and Keith Welch of Piedmont; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Norma Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
