Reverend Larry Masoner

October 28, 1951 ~ November 1, 2019

Reverend Larry Masoner, 68 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, November 1, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in the First United Methodist Church of Woodward with Reverend Lesly Broadbent officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Larry Wayne Masoner was born on October 28, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; he was the son of Frankie Wayne and Joella Pauline (Judkins) Masoner. Larry attended Spencer Elementary School, and graduated from Star Spencer High School. He then earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Larry taught high school Science at Stroud High School. He worked for the City of Moore, before going to work for Norman Supply Company. He continued his education earning his Masters in Divinity from Phillips University in Enid. Larry then began his career with the United Methodist Church serving churches in Vian, Waynoka, Woodward, Watonga, and Mooreland United Methodist where he retired from. Larry was currently working part time at the Vici, and Lenora churches. He was united in marriage to Kelly Lee DeWolf on November 4, 1999 in Woodward, Oklahoma where they made their home.

He loved church camp, golfing, fishing, road trips, dinner and movie with Eddie and Patty. Larry loved his family and friends. He liked watching college football games while texting Carter. The White Sox and the Beatles were also some of his favorites. Larry was known to play the guitar, harmonica, the mandolin, as well as the cow bell, he could always be heard saying, "More Cow Bell".

Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Ministerial Alliance.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kelly of the home; sister, Kathy Altstatt; brothers, Dennis Masoner and Nancy Pierce; Ronnie Masoner and wife Vickie all of Oklahoma City; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother-law, Bobby Altstatt and sister-in-law, Stephanie Masoner.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Canyon Camp with the funeral accepting the contributions.
