DONA MAE LUCAS

January 14, 1941 - December 6, 2017

Dona Mae Lucas, 76 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Dona Mae (Kornele) Lucas was born on January 14, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of John Henry and Viola Mae (Hawbaker) Kornele. She grew up in the Bent Canyon area in Harper County, Oklahoma. Dona attended high school in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Alvie Glen Lucas in 1966 and they made their home in Woodward. She was a housewife and doing reupholstery work on furniture.

She loved playing card and board games, gardening, sewing, playing computer games, watching Wheel of Fortune, and Dancing with the Stars. Dona mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved cooking and making her special sweet tea, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and beating John at UNO.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Randy Lucas, Raquel Grant and husband Robert, Meranda Lucas, and Nathan Lucas; six great-grandchildren, Torrie, Anthony, Kieara, Nevaeh, Maeleigh, Haden; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Viola Kornele, three brothers, Bobby, Buck, and Guy and five sisters, Dot, Bert, Norma, Evelyn, and Juanita, her husband Alvie and her son Randy Lucas.
