Funeral: 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 29th, 2016 - First United Methodist Church of Mooreland

Interment: 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 29th, 2016 - Elmwood Cemetery Margaret Lewis, 93 year old Mooreland resident died Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with Reverend Larry Masoner officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Elizabeth Lewis was born on May 7, 1922 in Tangier, Oklahoma the daughter of Ernest and Hannah (Laubach) Harper. Margaret was reared in Mooreland, attended Mooreland schools and graduated from Mooreland High School. She was united in marriage to Olie Andrew Lewis on August 22, 1940 in Ponca City. Margaret and Olie made their home in Mooreland before moving to Woodward. Margaret and Olie were blessed with four girls, Verneda, Velma, Marie, and Julie as well as two boys, Roger, and Bobby.

Margaret worked at various businesses including Tregos Western Wear, and Jays Café, but mostly was a stay at home mom. She was devoted to her children.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and sewing. She also belonged to the Home Extension Club, she also served as Cub Scout Leader.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Verneda Hamilton ; Velma Pearson and husband Tom; Marie Herzer and husband John; Julie Lewis; two sons, Roger Lewis and wife Charlotte; Bobby Lewis; eleven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Harper; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and six brothers.
