Wilma Marie Stipp Lawson

Wilma Lawson, 91 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Woodward. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Nathan Twyman officiating.

Wilma Marie (Stipp) Lawson was born on December 31, 1933 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Otis and Daisy Pearl (Poage) Stipp. She grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. She was united in marriage to Gary Allison Lawson on August 17, 1952 in Woodward, Oklahoma and they were blessed with three children: David, James, and Pam. They made their first home in Woodward and also lived in Tulsa and Oklahoma City before moving back to Woodward. Wilma worked in Sales and was a Bookkeeper and Store Clerk.

She was a member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene and was very involved in her church. Wilma was part of a Bible Study Group and Women's Church Fellowship. She was also a member of the EAA Chapter Flying Club. She and Gary loved spending time together, she just loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, being around people, and studying the bible and sharing it.

She is survived by two sons: David Lawson and wife Carolyn of Woodward, Jim Lawson and wife Julie of Ada; one daughter Pam Vreeland and Chip Seay of Tulsa; seven grandchildren: Nicole Jackson and husband Matt of Edmond, Laine Walters and husband Corbin of Tulsa, Rikki and Kim Stewart, Jim Stewart and Katie Smith, Peggy and Tyson Bussinger, Sayb and Morgan Klaus, and Jennifer Stewart; 11 great-grandchildren: Rylee Jackson, Isaiah Jackson, Clementine Walters, Kelsey Stewart, Kae Stewart and partner Jackson Harris, Hunter Stewart, Destiney Stewart and partner Deangelo Cortez, Marcellus Stapp, Zachary Ramirez, Sophee Bussinger, Winndelyn Klaus; other relatives and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers, Robert Stipp, Elmer Stipp, Art Stipp, Louise Stone, Lena "Jainie" Poston, Cecil Stipp and her husband Gary in 2020.
