Darrell E. Larkey, 72 year old Sharon resident, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer. Darrell didn’t want the fuss of a service. He wanted everyone to remember him as he was the last time you saw him. A grave side memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday June 9, 2016 at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Darrell Eugene Larkey was born on May 11, 1944 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Chad Donovan and Frances Yvonne (Davis) Larkey. Darrell grew up in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1963. He worked most of his life in the oilfield. He met his soulmate Sharon Miller in 1964 and they were married in September of 1965. They were able to have their 50th wedding anniversary in 2015. They were blessed with two sons whom he loved dearly, Tim in 1966 and Mike 1968.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his devoted wife Sharon; two sons, Tim Larkey and wife Linda, Mike Larkey and his partner Roberta; four grandsons, Tyler Larkey, Matt Weber, Kyle and Justin Hunt; sisters, Lola Faus and husband Larry, Nelda Kincaid, Carol Ann Goodballet and husband Joe; brothers, Buzz Larkey and wife Sherril, Buck Larkey and wife Bonnie; other relatives and friends.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; a very special niece, Kelly Jo Larkey.
