Mary Louise Folsom Kyle

June 27, 1929 ~ January 17, 2021

Mary Kyle, 91 year old Woodward resident, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Woodward surrounded by her family. A Graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Mary Louise (Folsom) Kyle was born on June 27, 1929 in Caney, Oklahoma to Oscar and Blanche (Ballard) Folsom. She grew up in the Atoka area and graduated from Atoka High School in 1947. She worked as a Telephone Operator for Southwestern Bell. Mary was united in marriage to Ted E. Kyle on June 15, 1962 in Atoka, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Del City for a short time before moving to Woodward. Mary and Ted owned and operated Star Model Clothing for 30 years before they both retired.

After her retirement Mary continued to be involved in her community, she was involved with Crystal Christmas, a Mentor at the Woodward Elementary Schools, a Woodward Conference Center Ambassador and an American Red Cross volunteer. She also enjoyed volunteering for the community Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. Mary loved hosting her family on all occasions and Facetiming/ Snapchatting with her grandkids. She was very proud of her Choctaw Heritage and loved her church family. She enjoyed sewing, going to church activities and watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and the OU Sooners.

Mary was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and always helped with Vacation Bible School, Kings Kids, and Christs Crew.

She is survived by her three daughters: Karla Wilson and husband Ron of Mooreland, Jamie Ruble and husband Spence of Woodward, Sherry Good and husband Greg of Perryton, Texas; eight grandchildren: Kyle and Afton Wilson, Jacob Ruble, Megan Good and fiance Bryson Sechrist, Kylea and Jeremy Cartwright, Rachel Beck, Kayla and Kevin Finnegan, Hannah and Jake Cowan, Garrett Good; seven great-grandchildren: Holly, Bryson, Brianna, Jaylee, Lane, Luke, Levi and three on the way; two brothers: JB Folsom, Hagen Folsom and wife Ruth Ann; sister-in-law, Laura Folsom; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted, parents Oscar and Blanche Folsom, brothers and their spouses: Oscar Folsom, Bill and Nan Folsom, James and Stella Folsom, sisters-in-law: Marge Folsom, Mary Shore and nephew Jim Folsom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Woodward or the High Plains Technology Center for the Ted and Mary Kyle Scholarship Fund.
