Carolyn E. Kincaid, 69 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Shannon Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Carolyn Elizabeth (Hamlin) Kincaid was born on June 24, 1945 in Bunch, Oklahoma to Lawrence and Bessie Opal (Riggs) Hamlin. She was reared in Bunch, Oklahoma and attended school at Cave Springs, graduating in 1964. She was united in marriage to Curtis Neal Kincaid at the First Baptist Church in Custer City, Oklahoma on September 5, 1964. They were blessed with two daughters, Deborah Dawn and Michelle Kris. They made their first home in Clinton before moving to Custer City where she taught school. The family moved to Woodward in 1972 and they have lived there since that time. Carolyn went to work for the Woodward Public Schools and she taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade until her retirement due to health reasons. Carolyn had a passion for teaching. She loved her students and her co-workers. There was much fun to be had!!
Carolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Woodward. She was involved in the church, especially when her daughters were in the youth program. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, but most of all she loved being with her family. Carolyn loved watching her children and especially her grandchildren in any activity they were involved in.
She is survived by her husband Curtis Kincaid of Woodward; two daughters, Debbie Covalt and husband Greg of Woodward, Kris Titus and husband Terry of Woodward; five grandchildren, Carli Morrisett and husband Ross of Edmond, Casey Covalt of Edmond, Amanda Covalt of Edmond, Kaitlyn Titus of Woodward, Tyler Titus of Woodward; Sisters, Skeets Smith of Shawnee, Glendene Sheperd and husband Rick of Meeker, Tootie Ragg, Betty Thornton, both of Oklahoma City, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bessie Hamlin, three brothers, George Franklin Hamlin, Oscar Lee Hamlin, Anthony Hamlin, sisters, Irene Simmons, Mary Howell, and Vada McDougal, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Earl and Lorene Kincaid.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Education Foundation with the Billings Funeral Home, 1621 Downs Avenue, Woodward, OK. 73801 accepting the contributions.
