Russ Kays, 84 year old Woodward resident died Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Woodward. Private family Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. Due to the order to restrict public gatherings to 10 people or less, the family asks that all rules and regulations be abided by. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Russellene (Dean) Kays was born in Webb, Oklahoma on June 22, 1935 to Russell and Pauline (Myers) Dean. Russ grew up south east of Camargo in the Riverview area. She attended Camargo Schools and graduated from Camargo High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Dale Kays on March 5, 1955 in Leedey, Oklahoma. The couple shared over 50 years together. Dale and Russ were blessed with two sons, Tony Lee and Ricky Lynn. In the fall of 1954 Russ and Dale moved to Woodward and have lived here since that time.
Russ worked for several years for S & H Green Stamp Store and sold Avon. She had an Avid love for her family and liked to stay home with them the most. She enjoyed traveling to all of the 50 states and going on cruises. She also enjoyed working in the yard at home and watching baseball.
Russ is survived by her two sons, Tony Kays and wife Sabine of Camargo, Rick Kays and wife Donna of Stillwater; sister, Betty Waters of Arnett; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her soul mate, Dale Kays and her parents, Russell and Pauline Dean.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
