Janet Holmgren, 67 year old Woodward resident lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in Oklahoma City. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Janet Louise (Teller) Holmgren was born September 22, 1955 to Robert Wolsey and Frances Nell (Rogers) Teller in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Janet grew up in Alamogordo and graduated from Alamogordo High School. Janet was united into marriage to Wilfred "Wolf" Ryan Holmgren and were married 40 years. To this union they were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Ryan.
Janet worked various places in Woodward throughout the years including Walmart, Atwoods, and Dollar Tree. She retired in 2017 to spend time with her husband doing the things they loved. She often enjoyed going to and holding garage sales, buying and cleaning out storage units, and casino hopping. Timber Wolf was her favorite game.
Janet was a Christian woman. She was raised in the United Methodist Church and later attended the Church of Christ.
She enjoyed helping people. She was a huge cheerleader for her family. She stayed in touch with all the family, even with distant cousins. Anyone who knew Janet, knew that she loved to talk about her family. She often found the sunshine on all situations. She was very proud of her children and would spend hours talking about them and her husband, Wolf.
Janet is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wolf Holmgren; her children Kimberly Arnold and husband Rocky of Garfield, Arkansas; and Ryan Holmgren of Enid, Oklahoma; grandchildren Ashton and Erica Arnold of Garfield, Arkansas; one great-granddaughter Iris expected in November; brothers Steve Teller and wife Rene of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Dave Teller and wife Mae of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico; one sister Lorraine Lockey and husband Jack of Albuquerque, New Mexico; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
