Arnett – Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Violet Hicks, 77, will be held Monday, January 22, at 2:30 PM in the first Baptist Church in Arnett, with Steve Langford, pastor, and Ollie Kinser, pastor of the Apostolic Faith Church in Arnett, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Service, Woodward.
She was born June 12, 1901, in Woodward and grew to womanhood in Woodward County. She married Earl R. Hicks, April 5, 1919, in Woodward where they made their home for several years, later moving to Arnett. She died January 18, in a Shattuck hospital.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arnett.
Preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one son, she is survived by two sons, Glenn and Kenneth, both of Arnett; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Goble, Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Mina Wilson, Bentonville, Arkansas; a brother, Ed, of Canton; and two half sisters, Mrs. Rosie Zirger, Woodward, and Mrs. Ruth Bohn, Seiling; three half brothers, George and Evans Crites, Woodward, and Carl Crites, Liberal, Kansas, eight grandchildren, five great – grandchildren and other relatives.
