Woodward, Okla. — Wilma L. Harper, 92 year old Mooreland resident, died Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend David Mercer officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery . Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Woodward. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Wilma Lenora Harper was born on May 29, 1918 in Newberry, Michigan to Abe "Bud" and Grace Lillian (Streeter) Wiser. She was reared in Raco, Michigan and attended school there. Wilma was united in marriage to Virgil Harper in Auburn, Washington. They made their home in Kent, Washington before moving to Mooreland in the 1980's. Wilma was a housewife and also was a cook for a large Baptist Retirement Home in Washington.
Wilma was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and being with her family. Wilma was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Mooreland .
She is survived by her husband Virgil Harper of the home; one son Henry Williams and wife Glenda of Hulbeet, Michigan; one brother, Willis A. Wiser of Raco, Michigan; three sisters, Phyllis Wiser of Puyallup, Washington, Lola Wiser of Hougan, Montana and Shirley Wiser of Auburn, Washington; three grandchildren, Azure Williams of Edwards Air Force Base, Jessica Williams of Gladstone, Missouri, Bret Ann Murphy of Tacoma, Wahington; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Williams and Jodan Murphy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herman Harper of Mooreland , Vernon Harper of Mooreland , Howard Harper and wife Jean of Woodward, Margaret Deever and husband Harold of Woodward; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Russell and Harold Wiser and a daughter, Palma Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland United Methodist Church Building Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
