Woodward – Grady W. Greer, 90, pioneer Woodward County resident, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, died Wednesday in Sunnyvale, California, following a short illness. His service will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Stecher Mortuary Chapel at Woodward. The Rev. W. T. Archer, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Greer was born April 14, 1889, at Castle Rock, Colorado, and at the age of five moved with his family to Woodward. He was a an early day cowboy, cattle buyer and banker, and served during World War I in France in the Army of Occupation Force at Luxembourg, Germany. In 1922, he moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he was a real estate broker, retiring in 1945. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Greer was the last of five brothers and six sisters. Among his survivors are several nieces and nephews, including Helen Greer Collier of Woodward.
