JOSEPH EDWARD GOODBALLET

August 4, 1945 ~ July 5, 2019

Joseph Goodballet, 73 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Mabra officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the United States Navy providing military rites.

Joseph Edward Goodballet was born on August 4, 1945 in Princeton, Illinois to James Edward and Dorothy Ethel (Russell) Goodballet. Joe grew up in several small towns but always considered Camargo home. He attended grade school in Ft. Cobb and graduated from Camargo High School. He was inducted into the United States Navy on October 19, 1965 and served his country in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged in 1971.

He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Larkey on March 9, 1966 at the First Christian Church in Mooreland, Oklahoma. His father James Goodballet conducted the ceremony. They made their first home in Davisville, Rhode Island before moving back to Woodward in 1978. Joe worked as a long haul truck driver most of his life before retiring.

He was a faithful member of the Free Will Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, his church family and playing his harmonica at church.

Joseph is survived by his wife Carol Goodballet of the home; one son Joseph Edward Goodballet, Jr. and wife Carla of Mooreland; two daughters, Laura Adams and husband Jerry of Durant, LaDonna McAdoo and husband Kevin of Woodward; one sister Mary O????????Hair and husband D.W. of Pond Creek, Oklahoma; one brother Charles Goodballet and wife Jody of Phoenix, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Richard Goodballet, in-laws, Chad and Frances Larkey and brother-in-law, Darrell Larkey.
