Joy Goin, 96 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at her home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the Woodward Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.
Joy Josephine (Hokit) Goin was born on March 15, 1928 in Comanche, Oklahoma to William Irvin and Stella Rozella (Beck) Hokit. She was married to Charlie M. Goin on June 3, 1945 in Comanche, Oklahoma. They resided in Comanche, Oklahoma, Pal, Wyoming, Thermopolis, Wyoming, Cutbank, Montana, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and Woodward.
She is survived by her three children: Sharon Solloway, Charles L. Goin and wife Nancy, Carolyn Foresman and husband Bill, all of Woodward; six grandchildren: Nathan Solloway and wife Shalom, Joel Solloway and wife Amy, Jay Goin and wife Cheryl, Jenny Martin and husband Chris, Chandra Angelov, Kourtnei Storm and husband Barrett; Tonya Pilant, who was like a daughter and her husband David; 12 great-grandchildren: Sage Martinez and husband Alon, Simeon Angelov, Charlie Rose Angelov, Conor Martin, Natalie Unnava and husband Partha, Kelsey Goin, Annabella Solloway, William Solloway, Emaline Solloway, Kamden Phillips Brayson Storm and Brooks Storm; great-great-grandchildren, Bexleigh Martinez and Hosana Martinez.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Foy Winniger, her husband Charles, and one grandchild, Brett Alan Ladd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Woodward Public Schools Lunch Money Fund for children in need with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
