ROBERT LEE "BOBBY" FOWLER

Robert Lee “Bobby” Fowler, 71 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, October 17, 2017 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jesse Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army.

Robert Lee Fowler was born on May 30, 1946 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Alvin and Olive E. (Grove) Fowler. Bobby grew up in the Woodward area and attended the Vici schools. He was united in marriage to Diana Ruth Day on August 1, 1964 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward and Robert worked in the oilfield. He was inducted into the United States Army on January 31, 1966. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was a Sharpshooter. While serving he received Military Justice Training and CBR Training. Bobby received numerous commendations and was honorably discharged in 1972.

After the service he and Diana continued living in Woodward. He worked at a gas station and operated his own trucking company, hauling rock, wheat and etc. Robert later went back into the oilfield and worked until his retirement.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who loved him dearly.

Survivors include his wife Diana Fowler of the home; three sons: Robby Fowler and wife Teresa, Albert Fowler and wife Char, Chad Fowler; three brothers: Jimmy Fowler and wife Brenda, Ronnie Fowler and wife Midge, Danny Fowler and his late wife Georgette; four sisters: Wanda Merchant and husband Jack, Ann Shuyler and husband FW, Alice Hale, Alvina Janow and husband David; eight grandchildren: Kelsey and husband Andrew, Jessica, Erica, Laira and husband Dru, Baylee and husband Bryce, Brynna, Haylee, and Raven; one great-grandchild, Braxton and another great-grandchild on the way; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Fowler, his mother Olive Fowler, two brothers, Sonny Fowler and Donny Fowler and one sister Ellen Fowler.
