Karen Diane Underwood Fields

Karen Fields, 76 year old Woodward resident, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2025 at the Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Karen Diane (Underwood) Fields was born on December 8, 1948 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Robert and Eunice (Richardson) Underwood. Karen grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1967. She then received her RN degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Enid. Karen was united in marriage to Ronald Fields on June 14, 1970 at the Bible Baptist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Oklahoma City before moving to Woodward in the early 1970's. Karen worked for various different places before going to work for Western State. She was the Director of Outpatient Services and continued working until her retirement on April 1, 2006.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, knitting and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron Fields of the home; one son Robert Fields and wife Patricia of Enid; one brother Roger Underwood and wife Mary Ann of Canyon City, Colorado; three grandchildren: Ross, Ryan, and Jazmine; other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Randy and Rebecca Fields.
