Lyndell Jean Anderson Duvall

July 7, 1934 ~ May 14, 2020

Lyn Duvall, 85 year old Woodward resident, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel and they are open to the public. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. If you are unable to attend, the service will be broadcast live on the funeral home facebook page.

Lyndell Jean (Anderson) Duvall was born on July 7, 1934 in Elk City, Oklahoma to J.D. and Edna Dora (Smith) Anderson. Lyn grew up in the Elk City and Carter, Oklahoma area and graduated from Carter High School. She then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with her bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She was united in marriage to Travis Dale Duvall on December 20, 1958 in Elk City, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Gould where they both taught school. In 1968, the family moved to Woodward and Lyn taught in the Woodward Public Schools until her retirement in the late 1980's.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Lyn loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and she enjoyed Friday lunches with one of her best friends, Marilyn. She loved her church family and enjoyed folding church bulletins with her friends.

She is survived by one son, Kelly Duvall of Woodward; one daughter, Connie Barnett and husband Dale of Woodward; three grandchildren: Kristin Barnett and fiancé Cody Odell, Kiley Then and husband Adam, Kaleb Barnett and fiancé Alena Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Greyson Odell and Wynter Odell; two sisters: Hazel Pierce of Elk City; Dorothy Lyng of San Antonio, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Lyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Travis Duvall, and sister Helen Ruhrup.
