Mass of Christian burial for Margaret Violet Jennings Ludden Miller Davis, 93, of Woodward, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Woodward. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.
She was born Jan. 12, 1916, at the family home in Gage and died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Hanford, Calif.
She grew up near Vici. She married Francis R. Ludden. They made their home in Woodward. He died in 1944.
She married Ernest Miller in 1946. They lived in Woodward until 1954, when they moved to a farm near Longdale. In 1959, they moved to Weatherford, where they bought a boarding house for college boys. He died in 1968.
She returned to Woodward in 1968, where she married James Davis. They lived in Woodward until his death. She then moved to Sheridan, Wyo., and then Lemoore, Calif., in 2002.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Lemoore; St. Joseph League in Sheridan and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Sheridan.
She worked as a nurse aide and professional cook and volunteered for the VA Hospital in Sheridan, where she was honored with a 1,000-hour volunteer pin.
Surviving are one daughter, Margarette Smith of Lemoore; one son, Lawrence A. Ludden of Marlton, N.J.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to three husbands, Francis, Ernest and James, she was preceded in death by one daughter and one granddaughter.
