John Crotts, 65 year old Woodward resident, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Fritch, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
John Steven Crotts was born on May 14, 1960 in Farmington, New Mexico to John Chester Crotts and Monorae (Metcalf) Sumner. John grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School.. He was united in marriage to Tamara Dee Carter on February 27, 1992 in Guymon, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Fort Supply before moving to Woodward. In his earlier years, John worked for Budweiser, he was the "Bud Man". He later went to work in the oil and gas industry as an Oil Field Consultant.
He enjoyed airplanes, flying, working on cars, RC Modeling, dancing, and taking care of his home and yard. John loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Tamara Crotts of the home; sons: Jason Crotts and wife Wendy, Jeremy Crotts, Justin Crotts and wife Jenny; one daughter Shenna Smith; sisters: Julie Simons, Robyn Cather and husband Donnie; grandchildren: Jackson Crotts, Joshua Crotts, Joey Crotts, Jayson Crotts, Asha Crotts, Justin Crotts, Jasmine Crotts, Jayden Spray and husband Andrew, Hunter Sandoval and wife Haley, Justyn Porter and husband P.J., Royce Smith, Cainaan Smith; great-grandchildren: Jameson, Jackson, Tanner, Jacob, Dax, Kylo, and Easton; niece, Hailey Gartrell and husband Jody; nephew Garrett Cather and wife Kylee; other relatives and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Chester Crotts, his mother Monorae Sumner, brother-in-law, Tom Simons, and great-granddaughter, Caslynn Takei Sandoval.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses..
